NAKAI was founded in 1916 by Mr. Shotaro Nakai. Until 1957, the factory produced gold and silver threads.

From 1957 to 1968, the company expanded its product range and began to produce various aluminum foil products.

Since 1968, NAKAI has been developing and manufacturing high-tech foils for various industries.

Since 2004, the rapid growth of NAKAI begins. In the period from 2004 to 2015, two new production sites were opened, the range of high-tech film coatings was significantly expanded, reorganization was carried out, and some business areas were separated into separate companies. NAKAI-Electro Holdings, Ltd., was organized.

Using established relationships with the company's customers (factories) in China and historical ties with the business in Russia, NAKAI-Electro Holdings organized the production of light sources and began to sell the range of products, mainly in Russia, choosing the Russian company “SKHT-NN” as the exclusive distributor

In 2024, NAKAI-Electro Holdings changed the logo and design of the brand and re-entered the market of the EAU (Eurasian Economic Union) with new products and exclusive distributor - the Russian company “TD Mir Diodov”.
